Hy just keeps growing! He is just barely starting to smile at us (he's smiled at Sunny a couple of times and me once when he is awake). He'll grin in his sleep and we've caught him chuckling a couple of times in his sleep. It's really cute! You just have to wonder about what he is thinking about.

He's looking around a lot more and just loves to look or be outside. He's moving his head around and is getting really good at holding his head up. He'll get upset sometimes and so I'll stand up to rock him and he just looks around and just wants to take everything in. He quiets right down as long as he is upright and has something interesting to look at.

We took him to the driving range the other night. We got him all dressed up in his Winnie the Pooh golf outfit and Nike shoes and off we went. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it all, but we all had a good time.

A few weeks after he was born, he started to get what we thought was cradle cap. It might have been dry skin, but I wasn't going to take any chances. They told us in the hosptial to just scrub his head when we bath him and so that's what I did. I ended up scrubbing off most of his baby hair on top of his head, so for the longest time he looked like he had a receding hairline. Luckily, his he's starting to get some peach fuzz coming in so he doesn't look like such an old man.

It has been unseasonably warm here in Utah County the last few days. Yesterday it reached 100°F and so to try and stay cool we took Hyrum up the canyon for his first visit to Mutual Dell. It's an area up American Fork Canyon owned by the Church where they have camping, a lodge, etc. It was nice to have a respite from the sweltering weather and Hyrum seems to really love being outside.

He's also starting to become a little more mobile, although I think he is still figuring out that he is in control of his arms and legs. Occasionally he'll be getting upset and wack himself in the nose (which makes him even more upset). He's starting to just flail his arms and kick his legs during tummy time which inches him across his little blanket (but usually only when he is really mad). We'll get some footage the next time he does it and post it.

Today was my first Father's Day and it was great. I didn't have any meetings so we could just enjoy spending all Sunday morning as a family.

The last four weeks have gone by so fast! At the same time it's hard to imagine what life was like without Hyrum being here with us (effects of sleep deprivation?) :-) He's growing so fast it seems like he changes everyday. Everyone keeps telling us how small he is, but he is so much bigger than when we brought him home from the hospital, we keep saying "Where did our little baby boy go?"

We blessed him last Sunday and as I feared he cried through most of the blessing. But it was great having Sunny's dad, my dad and brother in the circle to bless him. He also managed to fill his diaper halfway through the blessing which a few members of our ward commented on. :-) Shortly thereafter Sunny discovered our worst fear realized...he had exploded out the side of his diaper. One of our nephews dirtied his blessing outfit and so we had tried to take extra precautions to make sure that he was on empty for the blessing. But, he's still calling the shots so he does whatever he wants. However, I have become an Oxiclean believer. It's amazing! We soaked his outfit in it and it's spotless.

He has such a little personality and is already training us to do his every bidding. If we aren't feeding him (which he likes to do pretty much constantly), or paying enough attention to him, or he's tired of being in his little tux (see above), he has no problem letting us know!

We went up to a park across from the Mt. Timpanogas Temple after picking up some donuts at the local bakery (something we haven't done for a while) and just enjoyed the nice warm weather (where we snapped this photo of him sucking away on his pacifier)

Here is a short video clip that we put together of Hyrum having tummy time. He still doesn't do too much, but he's cute!
