We're down to the final countdown. Sunny is due on Tuesday, May 10th, and we are frantically trying to get everything ready before Hyrum makes his appearance! Originally, the doctor was were planning on inducing her on the 16th, but depending on how things go at her next appointment, it could be this Thursday, the 10th. In the meantime, we've been building lots of baby furniture (cribs, dressers and things which attach to them), washing lots of baby clothes, doing LOTS of cleaning charging up batteries for the cameras, and trying to get ourselves ready for this little guy to get here.

This weekend was Stake Conference and we had the opportunity of having Elder Cecil O. Samuelson (Member of the 70 and currently the President of BYU) preside at the conference. Other than the slight fear of possibly needing to escort Sunny off the stand if her water broke (she was singing in the choir), it was a wonderful conference. A substantial emphasis was placed on the importance of family history and fulfilling our assignments.

Every time I have had the privilege of interacting with one of the Brethren, I have been struck by the great amount of love that seems to come from them. It is a witness to me of the effect the life-long influence of the Spirit of the Lord upon someone who is striving to be more like the Savior. I was also reminded that the keys of the priesthood have been restored to the Earth and are made manifest not only through the General Authorities, but our local leaders as well. It's that example that makes me want to stand a little taller and do a little better.
