Today we blessed Elijah in church. We ended up having more family at church today than we've EVER had in our ward and it was SOO great. My parents got here Saturday morning at 1 am and then on Sunday morning around 9 am Derek's family got here to play with the boys a bit before church.
I waited till the last minute to get little man in his outfit.
He wore it well, just like his brothers before him.
Then he went to be snuggled by grandma's and get more pictures taken.
His brothers were not as willing to be in front of the camera.
We prevailed upon them for one though.
Then we realized the time and rushed to church. We almost filled two pews meeting three more of Derek's cousins and their families (who luckily had been saving seats)!!
I gave pads of paper to Cheryl (Derek's cousin) and my mom (and kept one myself) to record as much as we could of the blessing at the end of it all I think we captured a lot. I'm excited to see what this little man becomes. It was so nice to have people to watch boys with me in church for once.
After sacrament I ran off to teach my lesson and then met up with all of the family in Relief Society. So nice to be together. After church we met at our house for a little BBQ.
The weather was nice, a little on the chilly side especially in the shade but nice. Of course our neighbor had to pick the very moment we were sitting down to lunch/dinner to start sawing away on his deck, but we made do.
Elijah slept through it all in his swing. The life of a newborn. At the end of the day we had altogether too much dessert since Derek's family left two pies behind after they went home wanting to be a part of the festivities despite having to leave, but it just made it all the sweeter ( although we would have much preferred that they'd been able to stay...with their pies. ) It was a absolutely crazy and fabulous day!
