Tis the season for college graduations and this year we were swept up in the festivities. My cousin Gillian graduated after a little detour and some all too easy to put off online classes.

Her mom and my Aunt BJ got clearance from her doctors to postpone surgury and watch her only daughter graduate in fabulous BLUE! My aunt BJ was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) two years ago. This particular breast cancer is so aggressive that when they found it it was already stage four. Gillian went home to help and be with her mom and finish her college courses from home. We are SOOO glad that they were able to celebrate this together.

And since we had family in town we had to have a dinner to reconnect and celebrate! When Gillie was here at school we'd try to get together with her and my other cousin Hillary and her family at least once a month for Sunday dinner. It was fun to have another one. We were dissappointed that Gillie didn't bring tupperware to take some home like she used to do.

It even snowed briefly and heavily for these Texans to take pictures in.
But after it stopped snowing the sun came out and it became a beautiful day so we went for a short walk to enjoy the view and sunshine before we took family pictures.
And of course Hyrum LOVED running with his second cousins!!

The next week we headed up to Logan for Tanja's (Derek's first cousin once removed...or more simply put ... cousin) graduation from Utah State University.

It was good as it always is to see them again
It had rained pretty much all day before the graduation but when we came out afterwards the sun was shining and it was pretty warm.

But the rain from the day had left puddles here and there on the sidewalks that Hyrum took full advantage of as we walked back to the car.

At first he was just running back and forth through them but Dad decided that he needed to learn how to jump in them too.

Preparing for the jump... ( this took awhile )

Lift off!! I love how he's completely airborne in this one!

And the splashy land!
A couple actually stopped to watch him jump...he was having soo much fun! The time of his life.

After a delicious dinner ( thanks again!!) we were off home. It was on the way home that we remembered once again how far away we live now. We got Hyrum to bed later than he usually is but it was so worth it.

What delightful pictures of Hyrum splashing in the puddles! I can't wait to show them to Hallie when I see her in a few days! We love being with you guys, even though it seems it's always hectic. Thank you for coming all the way to Logan to help us celebrate!

I LOVE the splashing and the jumping. What a fast camera you must have. He is so fun. And how wonderful you were there for Gillie's graduation and then had them over. I talked to BJ later and she said she loved getting to meet Hyrum face to face. Thanks for including us.

I love the new blog look! Fantastic! That is great that you let Hy splash in the water. I don't let my kids do that nearly enough. And I agree, that airborne picture should win a prize!
